CB Technologies to offer wireless clinical trial data capture

CB Technologies will integrate the wireless system with MetaTrial Version 3 and plans to release it at the end of the first quarter of 2001. The system is designed to enable clinical data monitors to more easily verify compliance with protocols and data integrity at the study sites. In addition, physicians who already have a wireless LAN in their facilities will be able to perform at-patient data capture.

"MetaTrial, with its design, allows for secure wireless data communication," said Samuel Hume, CTO of CB Technologies. "Because MetaTrial works over low bandwidth infrastructures, as well as high bandwidth, it provides full-blown data capture over any telecommunications system. It is designed to take advantage of emerging technologies, while maintaining data authenticity and integrity through the use of robust encryption technology."
