PharmQuest unveils parenteral database

PharmQuest's technologies and services are designed to enable drug developers in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical industry to access, manage and streamline relevant decision-making information to improve the success rate and speed of drugs to market.

The Parenteral Database is the first in PharmQuest's DrugSmarts line of products, a family of Web-based tools that support the drug development professional and rationalize pharmaceutical product development. The database includes essential data points for over 2,000 parenteral products approved by the FDA through July 2000. It is fully relational and searchable.

Douglas Flanagan, Professor of Pharmaceuticals at the University of Iowa, College of Pharmacy, and his graduate students, originally aggregated the information contained within the database. PharmQuest has enriched the database by adding several more points and products, said Douglas Flanagan. They have introduced a valuable service by making it available through the Internet to all development scientists.
