SciTegic develops and markets informatics software to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets. The company is developing its data pipelining technology to process drug discovery data without the limitations of a conventional informatics infrastructure. By guiding the flow of data through a protocol of computational components, disparate data sets can be merged, analyzed, or manipulated with more flexibility.
"Pipeline Pilot has allowed us to access, manipulate, and analyze a variety of chemical and biological data sources in a way we couldn't have accomplished with any other technology out there," said Eric Swayze, Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Ibis Therapeutics, a division of Isis Pharmaceuticals. "We can easily merge data from our in house database and external sources, and then perform complex chemical manipulations, calculations, and analyses in real time. The software allows us to tackle almost any problem we can conceive of from complex data queries to clustering to statistical property prediction."
