e-MedSoft.com and OmniComm Systems form co-marketing agreement

Under the terms of the agreement, OmniComm's TrialMaster electronic data application will be incorporated into the suite of e-health solutions currently marketed, hosted and supported by e-Medsoft.com. The application is designed to streamline medical business processes and improve quality of care, while creating a new source of revenue for physicians in the e-Medsoft network.

TrialMaster provides physicians, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions and contract research organizations with a Web-based data and trial management solution designed to increase the efficiency, security and integrity of clinical research.

TrialMaster is designed to transform the traditional paper-based data processing system into an efficient, auditable computerized system. In addition, the solution provides tools to manage clinical trials from the desk of any designated trial manager regardless if the geographical dispersion of sites. The tools allow users to connect directly into data modules that collect real-time data from investigators' sites.

"Although relatively few clinical trials are currently done using electronic data capture (EDC), a leading consulting group predicts that by 2003, 60% of trials will utilize EDC, as more and more studies prove out the reduction in development costs and time-to-market provided by EDC," said David Ginsberg, CEO of OmniComm. "It is predicted that 'e-enabled' operational improvements will eventually reduce clinical trial cycle time and headcount, which will translate into increases in gross profit margin. Since many contract research organizations are struggling to maintain profitability, these figures are significant."

"OmniComm's unique clinical trial application is an exciting new addition to our existing suite of e-health products and services, and provides us a perfect entree into the clinical trial marketplace, as well as another significant revenue stream to the company," said John Andrews, e-Medsoft.com Chairman and CEO. "As more and more physician groups incorporate a clinical trial component into their medical practices, it is imperative that we have a solution for them, which makes us the natural choice for providing complete e-health needs. With the incorporation of TrialMaster into our existing suite of e-health applications, we are able to continue to fulfill our mission of streamlining processes, enhancing communication, improving cash flow and reducing paperwork in the healthcare industry."
