ChemNavigator introduces 'Virtual Assistant' for iResearch System

"The thousands of additional targets resulting from the Human Genome Project heighten the demand for new compounds used in testing," said Scott Hutton, President and CEO. "A new strategy is necessary to address this rapidly growing demand for novel chemistry. The iResearch System provides that strategy."

The iResearch System combines more than one million drug-like compounds from 20 chemical suppliers, cross-indexed research data and new automated cheminformatics tools to help scientists stay updated about emerging information relevant to their research interests.

Life scientists opting for one of the company's paid membership plans can now have a virtual assistant, ChemNavigator's Chemistry Alert Agent, at their disposal. The agent automatically and continuously searches for new, hard-to-find compounds related to a user's area of research and sends an email alert as new compounds become available. In addition, another feature alerts users when new cross-indexed data is added to the iResearch System.

Costs for the plans start at $1,000 annually for a personal membership, but customized corporate memberships are also available that incorporate features to allow an organization to integrate the scientists' use of the iResearch System with their own in-house proprietary chemical data.

ChemNavigator's new services utilize the company's proprietary Fuzzy Chemical Similarity Join technology, enabling the iResearch System to comb through millions of compounds that are joined with supporting information, such as FDA filings, therapeutic patents and biological screen data, based on the similarity of the structure.
