Symbion Research and Vital Link.net align clinical trials technologies

"We are excited to be working with first-class organizations like Symbion, said Arthur Schoenstadt, Vital Link's COO. As more organizations adopt our technology, the value of the efficiency, accuracy and data security we provide becomes increasingly evident."

"Symbion Research International strives to provide our clients with high quality, cost effective research services, said Symbion CEO, Peggy Pence. The technology Vital Link.net offers will help us fulfill the Symbion philosophy of exceeding our clients' expectations."

Symbion said its new data management system will function as a back end application for its current information technology infrastructure. The system also will have the ability to interface with Vital Link.net's patented touchscreen hardware, the VITAL Center. Through the VITAL Center touchscreen researchers will be able to access multimedia informed consent sessions, electronic case report forms (CRFs), electronic patient questionnaires and digital video messaging and teleconferencing.

According to Vital Link.net, its data management systems are tailored to the needs of each client, the system being developed for Symbion features the ability to interface with multiple research databases. The system also will offer multiple data entry modes, facilitating the transition between paper-based data collection and newer electronic data capture technologies. Symbion's management system also will include a series of features to ensure full compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.

"We look forward to a future of synergistic growth with Symbion Research," Schoenstadt said. "We are both forward-thinking companies determined to make a difference in clinical trials."
