As part of a multiyear agreement, Lilly will employ Phase Forward's technology across its clinical practice to speed the collection and management of trial data. By streamlining these processes, Phase Forward's solutions are expected to help Lilly reduce product development time, generate revenue opportunities and maintain a distinct competitive advantage.

"Lilly is committed to completely upgrading our e-data management systems to support our exciting pipeline of products," said Michael McDonald, Vice President of Global Clinical Research and Medical Affairs at Lilly. "We have been impressed with the early experiences on pilots of the Phase Forward InForm system and believe this to be an ideal front end for our systems."

Based on the progress of several pilot programs conducted with the InForm software over the past nine months, Lilly has begun transitioning to full-scale, global Phase I-IV clinical program implementation.

"Lilly would like to see the industry begin to adopt common standards for capture, collection and analysis of clinical trial data," McDonald said. "We are reassured that Phase Forward appears to be attracting significant interest from other major players in the pharmaceutical industry. Lilly looks forward to working with Phase Forward to set up data acquisition systems and processes that will transform the way clinical studies are done worldwide."
