The HealthExchange and CenterWatch collaborate to create clinical trials service

CenterWatch's existing Clinical Trials Listing Service features information on more than 40,000 ongoing clinical trials across a range of disease areas, profiles of research centers and listings of investigational drugs and their results in clinical trials.

"Some patients, particularly those individuals facing severe and life-threatening illnesses - are looking to be proactively matched with clinical trials," said Ken Getz, CEO of CenterWatch. "Over the years, many patients have asked CenterWatch to add a placement service. Through our collaboration with The HealthExchange, visitors can now receive active assistance in finding a clinical trial that fits their needs. We strive to provide study participants with convenient access to comprehensive, high quality information and services that empower them to make informed decisions about medical treatment."

"We were particularly interested in a collaboration with The HealthExchange based on their commitment to providing a quality and confidential placement service for patients seeking assistance across all disease conditions," Getz said. "As a result, some patients may now find life-saving options using a clinical trials placement service on the CenterWatch Web site."

"Market research demonstrates that there is clearly a void in patient understanding about clinical trials," said Victor Imbimbo, CEO and co-founder of The HealthExchange. "Our mission is to fill that void by ensuring that consumers are informed, their voices heard, and the wide variety of their needs met. This philosophy is critical for the long-term success of the industry. There is clearly a need for high quality clinical trial information and advocate support to patient. By combining our services, we hope to offer the prospective clinical trial participant, physician, or advocate with the most comprehensive clinical trial information designed to suit their needs, in the most efficient manner possible."
