Harris Interactive and Veritas Medicine collaborate to expand clinical trial services

According to the partnering companies, the alliance will create a range of new services by combining the Veritas Medicine Web-based screening and recruitment platforms with Harris Interactive's expanded healthcare database offerings, including its Chronic Illness panel of 800,000+ households.

By leveraging technology, the two companies said they will provide protocol feasibility testing, online screening, referral & retention and other services designed to increase the effectiveness of patient recruitment.

"This new venture, by two leaders in Internet-enabled patient recruitment, will provide a broader set of solutions for our clients, said Joseph Avellone, CEO of Veritas Medicine. Over the past several years, both companies have worked extensively to help improve patient recruitment and to prevent delayed trials. Our respective patient recruitment services are complementary. Working together, Harris Interactive and Veritas Medicine can now offer a seamless, integrated suite of recruitment services that will provide our clients with greater flexibility, and ultimately, more highly qualified patients."

"Online recruitment is the next big change coming to the clinical studies services marketplace, said Art Coles, Group President of Health Care Research at Harris Interactive. It saves time, saves money and increases the satisfaction level of the patients who participate in a clinical study. The combined services of Veritas Medicine and Harris Interactive will help our clients expedite the identification, solicitation, qualification and participation of patients into their clinical studies."
