By leveraging the power of the Internet to collect and manage clinical trial data, the InForm solution will enable the Prostate Cancer Center to streamline operations for large numbers of oncology trials. The Prostate Cancer Center will utilize the InForm technology to ensure data integrity and facilitate regulatory compliance with one comprehensive electronic data capture solution for multi-institutional prostate cancer trials. Implemented during a period of rapid expansion, the InForm solution will empower the Prostate Cancer Center to run multiple, simultaneous, clinical trials which will reduce time to market for new cancer treatments.

Combining a larger number of clinical trials with the very stringent requirements associated with oncology trials, the Center is experiencing a greater need to simplify and streamline our process," said Dr. David Agus, research director of the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. "We need to ensure the accuracy and integration of our data across many institutions. We also require a system that allows for patient accrual from off-site locations. After careful review of the EDC solutions available today, InForm surpassed our expectations and proved to be the best solution for a greatly improved clinical trials process.

One of the largest non-profit private hospital clinical research facilities on the West Coast, the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai is dedicated to offering patients the best emerging therapies and access to care. A multi-disciplinary team of physicians and scientists within the Center work together to conduct basic research and clinical studies. Prostate cancer trials at the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center involve the participation of patients and physicians at various locations, creating a need for one integrated system that will increase efficiency, while maintaining data integrity and accurate analysis.

By leveraging the InForm solution, Cedars-Sinai's Prostate Cancer Center will benefit from streamlined data collection and cleaning, real-time data access and effective trial control and management, automated edit checks and online query creation, resolution and tracking. The solution enables clinical data to adhere to regulatory compliance standards, including 21 CFR Part 11.

The nation's top research centers are actively investigating the advantages, benefits and return on investment associated with implementing technologies such as electronic data capture. The selection of InForm by the Cedars-Sinai Prostate Cancer Center to expedite its clinical trials process underscores the value proposition of EDC, which ensures cleaner and more accurate data, and ultimately reduces time to patients for new treatments, said Robert Weiler, CEO and President of Phase Forward. This agreement further demonstrates that pharmaceutical, biotechnology and world-renowned research organizations like the Cedars-Sinai Prostate Cancer Center continue to adopt Phase Forward's solutions in all therapeutic areas as the most efficient means of handling clinical data in the marketplace.
