Under the terms of the agreement, IDEC will subscribe to the Oncolgy DataSuite, a subset of the GeneExpress Suite. The Oncology DataSuite is a disease specific data set focused on gene expression profiles from a broad survey of human cancer types. The suite is designed to provide the basis for analyzing the mechanisms of human cancer and allows researchers to employ a more directed approach to pinpointing sentinel cancer-related genes.
Access to the Oncology DataSuite should facilitate the discovery of gene products specifically expressed in tumour cells, which may provide potential targets for immunotherapy of cancer, said Nabil Hanna, IDEC's CSO.
This partnership strengthens and further validates our ongoing strategy of delivering targeted solutions that address the specialized needs of our pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers as they pursue genomics-driven drug development initiatives, said Mark Gessler, President and CEO of Gene Logic.
