Philadelphia, PE - Diego Miralles was celebrated for his industry leadership with the ‘Lifetime Value Achievement Award’ at the inaugural eyeforpharma Philadelphia Awards 2015 ceremony yesterday evening.

The awards reflect eyeforpharma’s mission to make the pharmaceutical industry more open and valued by celebrating individuals and projects that drive innovation that put the customer before profits. The ‘Lifetime Value Achievement Award’ recognizes those who have lived these values throughout their careers based on a consistent and determined approach to innovation, resilience and value creation over many years.

As the Global Head of Innovation, Diego Miralles has been developing transformational healthcare projects for over 13 years, following 12 years in hospital and academic roles. Diego was instrumental to the founding of Janssen Healthcare Innovation (JHI), a truly evolutionary initiative in pharma that has won considerable acclaim, including two awards at eyeforpharma Barcelona Awards 2015, the biggest gathering of commercial pharma globally.

Janssen Healthcare Innovation uses an iterative approach to innovation to pioneer new cost-effective service models for better healthcare delivery and outcomes. Under Diego’s leadership, JHI has launched successful patient-centric solutions under the Care4Today™ brand in areas such as orthopaedic care, mental health, cardiac rehabilitation and mobile-based medication adherence platforms. Janssen is part of Johnson & Johnson whose mission is to care for the world, one person at a time. The company develops innovative ideas, products and services to advance the health and well-being of people.

Other finalists for the Lifetime Value Achievement Award include Matt Portch at Pfizer, Ray Chepesiuk at PAAB and Joe Shields at AstraZeneca.

The award winners were selected from about 80 initiatives from North America. The awards gave an important platform to the patient voice in the selection process: judges consisted of an even panel of industry and patient representatives.
